The curriculum at the Ron Clark Academy will cover the basic requirements according to Georgia’s standard course of study. In addition, students will be exposed to classes and programs where they will learn and be involved with photography, dancing, music production, the art of design, dramatic performance, and business leadership.

Our international trips will be integrated throughout the curriculum, and exposing students to new cultures and situations are keys to our philosophy. In addition to the international trips, each class will travel on as many as 30 field trips each year to a world that they, in many cases, have never imagined. Art museums, Broadway shows, cultural festivals, and professional sporting events are just some of the ways that their eyes will be opened to the reality of diverse and rich cultures, sometimes within Atlanta, and sometimes around our country and throughout the world.

These will be educational trips of the highest caliber, providing rich opportunities for personal and academic growth. As Ron Clark has done for the last ten years, each field trip will be fully integrated into the curriculum. When classes have visited NYC in the past, every student could name each bird and distinguish every tree. Before going to Broadway shows, Mr. Clark had his students read the story, learn the songs, and research the architecture of the theater. Before going to the bowling alley, Mr. Clark visited himself, measured the lanes and used the dimensions on worksheets. He also used the bowling pins to teach fractions, and took the prices from the snack shop and used them in math class. On every trip, whether it is up the street or across the globe, the Ron Clark Academy will make every moment a learning opportunity because as Mr. Clark, has learned children must have a connection to something before they will appreciate it. After preparing our students so thoroughly for each trip, they will truly get the most out of the experience and internalize all that they have learned.
